UPDATE: We made it down to the Chipsa Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico last night. Lyon started his treatments today. We are very hopeful and these treatments are looking very promising. He has terrible veins and finally after the 5th try they were able to get an IV in. The docs decided it would be best if he put his port back in so he will be having surgery tomorrow morning to get that back in. This will make life so much easier as these treatments require IV's daily. I will keep everyone updated! Thank you so much for Prayers! xx Barbie

UPDATE: Thank you so much for all the love and generous donations! They are quickly going to use. Lyon has been receiving magnetic energy treatments the past few days, along with high doses Vitamin C drips. His spirits are up and he has his killer positive attitude as always, and he Knows without a doubt that he will beat this thing. Please help us to visualize him completely tumor free! We believe in the power of prayer and setting those intentions visually!
Barbie and Lyon will be heading to a Cancer Clinic in Tiajuana, Mexico called Chipsa Hospital this Sunday, March 11. There, Lyon will be doing the Gersen Therapy (organic juicing, coffee enemas), along with many other treatments. Ozone, Oxygen, more Vitamin C and K drips, as well as a few other medical treatments- one being a promising Stage 3 trial drug. They will be down there until March 30th.
The cost of all these treatments are not covered by insurance. The loss of work for both Lyon and Barbie will absolutely take it's toll on the family, so again, we Thank You for carrying them through this trying time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers and Barbie will be keeping us all posted while they are down in Mexico. #lovebeatscancer

UPDATE: Lyon just came back from The Cleveland Clinic on Wed night. They flew there expecting to be staying several weeks while his tumor was removed. His surgeon broke some heartbreaking news to him. The tumor was inoperable as it has grown through all of his abdominal arteries but most importantly, the main mesenteric artery that supplies the blood flow to the intestines. To remove this tumor they would need to remove the entire vascular system and the intestines, as well as the j-pouch he previously had when he had a full colectomy back in 2000. The surgical team would have to do an intestinal transplant in which the success rate is very low.
So now that the walls are closing in on options (or so they seem to be), he is ready for battle. For those who know Lyon, know he is not one to quite. He has the spirit of a warrior and is here for a reason and that this is only the beginning.
He and his mom, Barbie, are back in California looking into every option possible. Chemo, CBD, Integrative Cancer Clinics in Mexico, Immunotherapy, Vit C drips, Plant based diets, energy work - anything and everything! They will never give up!
Thank You so much for the continued donations, as these funds will allow them to fight, utilizing every option available. There is a long road ahead but where there is Life, there is Hope! God Bless!

What happens when a tumor doubles in size in two months? A life is on the line. Surgery is needed. This will be Lyon's the 24th surgery. Not a good option, but the only one. Chemo hasn't worked and radiation isn't possible due to proximity to the organs. Even though surgery is problematic, Lyon has to go through it. He's got a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio that's operated on him before, a doctor who has taken cantaloupe sized tumors out of his abdominal cavity. Now, he has what is maybe the worst of these horrific growths, strangling his bowels, causing incredible pain. This is a kid who has had tumors since he was 4 years old and now on his 21st year of battling this disease. He's got Gardner's Syndrome, a rare disease that manifests Desmoid Tumors. Desmoid Tumors are a fibrosarcoma that take over areas of your body and eventually wrap around organs and shut them down. There is no cure. Yet, he has been all over Europe, America and South America trying to find one. Stem cells, immunotherapy, faith healing, conventional meds, chemo, herbs, potions, and prayer. He has tried it all in his battle to beat this disease. It is life threatening and surgery is the only option now. There will be several weeks worth of hospital expenses, air fare, hotel, food, medications as well as out of network co-pays to be paid. The family is hard-working, but Lyon will be sidelined from his job and his mom, Barbie, is the major caregiver who will also incur loss of work to provide care. So the family needs our help. Lyon is a pure inspiration to so many. His light has shined bright since the day he was born. If you can, please be generous and help them out. Any amount is so greatly appreciated. Our goal is to relieve the financial burden at this time so that they can focus on the love and healing. We also want to see Lyon get back in the water as quickly as possible. Surfing has always been his primary source of healing. It takes a Village! God Bless.
